AI consulting services, from the first decision to a system your team can run.

Independent AI consulting for Philadelphia-area businesses. We connect strategy, agents, retrieval, evaluation, and leadership to the decision you are actually trying to make — and we do not resell the tools we recommend, so the advice is tied to evidence, not to a vendor.

Six ways to work with us.

Every engagement is scoped to a decision and built to be handed off. Start anywhere — most teams begin with strategy or a single decision memo, and we tell you which one fits in the first conversation.

01 AI strategy & roadmap Where to bet, what to buy, and what to leave alone — a roadmap executives can defend. Translate ambition into a sequenced plan tied to a business case: opportunities, build-vs-buy calls, vendor selection, and the first moves worth making. RoadmapBuild vs. buyBusiness case 02 AI agents & automation Agent and workflow design that does real work without losing control of it. Scoped automation with clear handoffs, human review where it matters, and guardrails — so the system is dependable, not just impressive in a demo. AgentsWorkflowsGuardrails 03 LLM, RAG & evaluation Retrieval systems and model scorecards that prove what AI can and cannot do. Source-grounded retrieval, plus evaluation harnesses built from your real work, so you can trust a system before you put it in front of clients. RAGEvaluationScorecards 04 Fractional AI leadership A senior AI lead before the full-time hire. Interim AI leadership for teams between ambition and a permanent hire: architecture review, hiring input, executive guidance, and a clean handoff. Interim leadArchitectureHiring input 05 AI Decision Memo A fast, written read on a single AI decision. When one question is on the table — build or buy, this vendor or that, now or later — a scoped memo gives you a defensible recommendation and the reasoning behind it. ScopedWrittenDecision-ready 06 AI technical due diligence An outside check on a tool, vendor, or build you are already considering. An independent technical read for buyers and investors: does the system do what it claims, what are the real risks, and what would it take to operate or scale it? Vendor reviewRiskInvestor diligence

What makes an AI consulting firm worth hiring

The category is crowded, and a lot of "AI consulting" is a slide of tools to install — a shopping list that often reflects how the consultant gets paid more than what fits your business. We built ideius to sit on the independent side of that table: we do not resell software, and we take no referral or partner fees from any vendor we recommend.

That changes the incentive. Our recommendations are tied to evaluation evidence and a business case, we are willing to give the unprofitable answer — buy off-the-shelf, wait, or do nothing yet — and the work is built so your team can run it after we leave. If you want the longer version, including the one incentive we name rather than hide, read how to choose an AI consultant: ask who pays them, and the standard we hold ourselves to on evidence over enthusiasm.

01

Decision: the call you are actually trying to make, not a tool you were sold

02

Evidence: evaluation drawn from your real work, edge cases, and failure patterns

03

Build vs. buy: an honest answer, including "buy it" or "not yet"

04

Independence: no reselling, no referral fees, no vendor on the other side

05

Handoff: a system and a plan your team can operate without us

Common questions

What does an AI consulting firm actually do?

A useful one starts from a decision you are trying to make, not a list of tools. The work runs from strategy — where AI belongs, what to build vs. buy — through design and evaluation, to a handoff your own team can operate. At ideius that spans AI strategy and roadmaps, agents and automation, LLM/RAG and evaluation, fractional AI leadership, decision memos, and technical due diligence.

How is ideius different from a software reseller?

We are independent: we do not resell software and we take no referral, partner, or kickback fees from any vendor we discuss. A reseller earns more when you buy what they sell; we get paid the same regardless of what you choose, so the incentive is to be right. If the honest answer is to buy off-the-shelf, or to not build at all, that is what we say.

Where should we start if we are not sure what we need?

Most engagements start with AI strategy and roadmap work, or a scoped AI Decision Memo when there is a single decision on the table. If you are evaluating a specific tool, vendor, or build, AI technical due diligence gives you an outside read. We will tell you which one fits in the first conversation.

Do you only work with Philadelphia-area businesses?

ideius is Philadelphia-first by design — local sessions are preferred for decisions, workflow review, architecture, and handoff — and we take select remote engagements across the US when there is a serious AI system or decision to move forward.
