Practical AI guidance for Philadelphia
teams building systems that last.

ideius is a small advisory and build shop based in Media, PA. We do our best work with Philadelphia-area teams when we can sit at the same table for the parts that matter: the call you have to make, the architecture you have to defend, the handoff your team has to live with. We take select remote engagements across the US when the fit is right.

Services

Where AI decisions become owned systems.

For Philadelphia-area teams, the work usually starts with an executive decision and ends with something engineering can inspect, improve, and operate.

01 — AI strategy & roadmap

Where to bet, what to buy, what to leave alone.

For executives and founders who need a defensible AI plan. We pressure-test use cases, compare build-vs-buy paths, review vendors and models, and turn the result into a sequence the team can act on.

  • Technical due diligence
  • Build vs. buy analysis
  • Vendor & model selection
  • Roadmap and decision memo

02 — Agents & automation

Automation that respects how work really moves.

We scope agent and automation systems around approvals, handoffs, exceptions, auditability, and ownership after launch. The goal is automation that survives the first month in production.

  • Workflow design
  • Agent prototypes
  • Production hardening
  • Runbooks

03 — LLM, RAG & evaluation

Retrieval and evaluation you can argue from.

We build retrieval, evaluation, and reporting layers that make model behavior visible against real tasks, edge cases, and business requirements.

  • RAG systems
  • Eval harnesses
  • Regression sets
  • Scorecards

04 — Fractional AI leadership

A senior AI voice before the permanent hire.

For three- to nine-month stretches when a company needs AI judgment in executive meetings, architecture reviews, vendor decisions, hiring conversations, and handoff planning.

  • Operating rhythm
  • Architecture review
  • Hiring input
  • Clean handoff

05 — AI Decision Memo

One real AI decision, answered in a memo.

A fixed-scope, time-boxed engagement for a single decision (build or buy, which vendor, whether it is feasible, where to start), delivered as a memo your team can defend and act on. See the AI Decision Memo.

  • Fixed scope
  • Build vs. buy
  • Feasibility & risk
  • Recommended path

06 — AI technical due diligence

An independent read before you commit.

Technical due diligence on an AI product, vendor, or system for investors, acquirers, and buyers: architecture, evaluation rigor, data, security, and risk. See AI technical due diligence.

  • Architecture review
  • Evaluation rigor
  • Data & security
  • Risk & red flags

Next step

Have an AI decision that needs a senior outside view?

Start with the context, the owner, and what needs to be decided or built. If the fit is real, the first call stays focused.

How we work

The recommendation and the reality stay connected.

You work with the person responsible for the strategic call, the technical path, and the handoff.

01

Senior, not pyramid

No analyst layer and no rotating consulting team. The person in the room is accountable for the judgment behind the work.

02

Roadmaps that can ship

Strategy work ends with a roadmap and the technical rationale behind it. Build work ends with code, evaluations, and operating notes.

03

Evidence over enthusiasm

Recommendations are guided by evaluation data, reproducible tests, business-case modeling, and evidence your team can challenge.

Answers

The questions that matter before we talk.

When should a Philadelphia company bring in ideius?

Bring in ideius when AI has moved from curiosity into a budget, architecture, vendor, risk, or operating decision. The work is direct and senior: clear judgment, technical diligence, and a path your team can defend after the meeting.

What kinds of AI work are a fit?

The strongest fit is work where strategy and implementation cannot be separated: AI roadmaps, build-vs-buy decisions, LLM/RAG systems, agent workflows, automation, evaluation harnesses, secure deployments, and fractional AI leadership. ideius is less useful for casual exploration or one-off prompt help.

Does ideius work outside Philadelphia?

Yes. ideius is based in Media, Pennsylvania and is intentionally Philadelphia-first: in-person work tends to be reserved for the moments that benefit from the room: scoping conversations, architecture sessions, working reviews, and handoff to internal owners. We take select remote engagements across the US when the project has a clear owner and a serious AI system or decision behind it.

What should an AI strategy engagement produce?

A useful strategy engagement should leave more than a slide deck. ideius produces a decision memo, prioritized use cases, build-vs-buy analysis, vendor or model recommendations, risk notes, investment sequence, and the technical rationale behind the roadmap.

How do you know an LLM or RAG system is good enough?

You need evidence tied to real tasks. ideius helps define representative cases, edge cases, retrieval checks, scoring rubrics, regression tests, and operating thresholds so leaders can see where the system works, where it fails, and what must improve before rollout.

How long do ideius engagements usually run?

Most engagements run four weeks to nine months. Shorter work usually fits strategy, diligence, or evaluation design. Longer work fits production hardening, operating model design, secure deployment, or fractional AI leadership when the team needs guidance through execution.

Start a conversation

Start with a fit call.

ideius takes on a small number of serious engagements at a time. A good fit has an accountable owner, a real decision or system at stake, and enough context for senior work to change the outcome.

Fit signals

  • Strong fit

A budget owner or product leader can name the AI decision, system, risk, or workflow that needs to move.

  • Less likely fit

General curiosity, basic training, one-off prompt help, or work with no internal owner.

  • Capacity

Availability is intentionally limited so active work stays senior, direct, and close to implementation.

Selective by design

Use this when there is a defined AI decision, build, or evaluation problem and confidentiality matters. If the project looks aligned, the next step is a focused first call: no nurture sequence, no follow-up drip.

A request is not an engagement commitment. Sensitive context can be sent by email instead.
